History of the Institution, Mission, Governing Body and UDC Structure
Medianeira is located in the extreme west of Paraná, a micro region with more than 170 thousand inhabitants.
Its name is a tribute to the patron saint, Nossa Senhora de Medianeira, represented with pride by the citizens.
The economy revolves around agribusiness, which has made the municipality one of the largest hubs of national agribusiness, being the home of companies that are among the 5 largest in Brazil, such as Lar, for example, which is the cooperative that most employs in Brazil and exports chicken cuts to more than 80 countries in America, Europe, Asia and Arab countries.
Frimesa is the largest pig slaughtering industry in Paraná and the 4th largest in Brazil. Through the exportation of its products, it makes Medianeira known worldwide.
Medianeira has many charms and is also a highlight in the area of education, having turned into a center of quality higher education in the last decade.
The mission of UDC Medianeira is to train qualified professionals, who are socially responsible and able to promote future transformations.

Always in constant evolution. One of the great news for education in 2021 at UDC Medianeira is the opening of an exclusive Doctorate in Business Administration program, in partnership with Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie.

The UDC Medianeira Extension Program has numerous projects. There are more than 40 extension activities every year, involving more than 1,000 students and 70 teachers.
We serve the people in the community through projects that cover topics such as:
Social Responsibility, Sustainability, Human Rights, Environment, Social Inclusion, Solidarity Action, Cultural Diversity, Company and Uni Integration, Attendance at the Legal Practice Center, Justice in the Neighborhood, extension courses addressing specific topics, among others.
In the last 6 years, UDC Medianeira provided the opportunity for Scientific Initiation through Scientific Abstract Collections held every six months and Scientific Research Exhibitions linked to Congresses with the production of articles.
Through partnerships with SESCOOP, several activities were carried out at the local Cooperatives.
The institution carried out scientific research together with the Medianeira community:
Cooperativa LAR - Innovation Partners;
Elaboration of a book about the history of the Medianeira community;
Study on the "in vitro" propagation of cultivated plants;
UDC Medianeira provides a complete service in the area of laboratories. New labs were built and equipped with the best, most modern and technological equipment, providing opportunities for the practice of scientific research;

Among the investments, we can highlight the revitalization and expansion of the auditorium; revitalized and expanded, it brings more comfort to students, as well as to the community, which also enjoys this space.
Altogether, we expanded more than 1654m2 in classrooms, laboratories and modern and practical living spaces.
UDC Medianeira transposes geographical barriers and is today a regional leader in the internationalization of education, maintaining international partnerships, mainly with the United States and Europe, in addition to global institutions such as ACTING FOR LIFE, AIUTA and UNESCO.
It also has an Education USA Office, assisting students from Brazil who want to study in the United States.
Opening UDC MEDIANEIRA to the world means bringing science academics closer together, as there is a strong investment in exchange and cooperative projects, such as the International Third Age and Sustainability Congresses in partnership with the University of Toulouse in France.
We also have the Agronomy Congress in partnership with Texas Tech University -TTU in the United States.
Also, the Civil Engineering Congresses, in partnership with the University of Central Florida - UCF and Texas Tech University and the Italian Università Roma TRE.
Our Law School always receives renowned Professors and Researchers from Università Roma TRE and the University of Coimbra in Portugal.
We also have the International Congresses of Administration and Commercial Management in partnership with the University or Central Florida - UCF.
