This week, there was the ceremony for the delivery of the Emeritus Collaborator of the Brazilian Army Diploma, to the Pro-Dean of Centro Universitário UDC, Professor Fábio Prado, in recognition of the relevant services rendered to the Brazilian Army, by the Commander of the 34th Motorized Infantry Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Georgingtown Haullinson Farias and signed by the Military Commander of the South General Valério Stumpf Trindade.
The name of the Pro-Dean, Prof. Fábio Prado, was an indication of the former Commander of the 34th BIMec Colonel Marcelo Pontes.
The Diploma of Emeritus Collaborator of the Brazilian Army is granted to personalities and civil institutions, reserve military personnel, retired personnel and members of the Auxiliary Forces by the Army Commander, considering the need to recognize the services provided to the Army by the nominated persons. It occurs according to Ordinance No. 280, of April 30, 2008. “It is an honor for personalities who have a great connection, partnership and collaboration with our institution. Today it is an honor for our institution to grant this diploma to Prof. Fábio, for the connection he has with our battalion, especially in the area of education, for providing our military and our children with unique opportunities here in the city ”, explained Commander Lieutenant Colonel Georgingtown Haullinson.
Professor Fábio Prado was touched by the honor and recalled a little of his personal history with the 34th BIMEC. “I thank Lieutenant Colonel Haullinson and all the officers of the 34th Mechanized Infantry Battalion. I remember that 47 years ago, my father, a dentist and my mother, a state teacher, came to live in Foz do Iguaçu, and here, across the street, on República Argentina Avenue, which at the time had no asphalt. Who would have thought that 47 years later I would be in the same place, receiving one of the greatest honors of my life, which is this Diploma of Emeritus Collaborator of the Brazilian Army ”.
According to the Army, the essential conditions for the nomination are: to have a high concept in the class and the community to which they belong; and having performed an outstanding action or relevant service in the interest and good name of the Brazilian Army. The ceremony takes place during Army Week, as a commemorative part of the event. “We congratulate Prof. Fábio once again for this distinction. It is a moment of great joy, to grant this Diploma to him. Today is a party day for us. We are not conducting our traditional graduations, with all our military in formation, with all the excitement that precedes this moment of handing the diploma, we did it in a restricted way due to the pandemic moment. As I told Prof. Fábio, despite being a more restricted moment, he still had a vibrant character, with a lot of joy and covered with all the emotion that the event incites ”, declared the Commander.
The ceremony took place in the Hall of Honor of the 34th Mechanized Infantry Battalion. Prado received the Diploma, signed by the Military Commander of the South General Valério Stumpf Trindade and a Distinguished Employee Badge with the Army shield. “This is a very special day, unfortunately, due to the pandemic, I cannot be here with all my family, but I certainly want to show my children to emphasize the importance of work, sacrifice, character, honor. A special day that I dedicate mainly to my family, to God and to the whole team, is an honor that belongs to the entire Group ”, concluded Prado.
